THE WIREFRAME SPHERE

THE SPHERE

1. Create a new image: 500 X500 RRG, 72 ppi.

2. Create a new layer and fill with Black

3. Filter: Render:3D Transform

  • Get the Sphere tool and draw a sphere
     
  • Go to Options and set Resolution to HIGH and Anti-Aliasing to none and Display background to OFF.
     
  • Select the tool that has the circular arrow around the ball (Trackbar Tool) and completely flip around the sphere. Because you are doing this on Black it should be easy to see the other side. The orientation here doesn't matter but try to keep the jaggies on the other side of the sphere. Hit OK. Now we have a golf-ball type thing on a white background.
     

4. Copy the contents of layer one to paste it in the center by doing the following:

  • Click Select=> All.
  • Click Edit=> Copy.
  • Click Edit=>Paste (image is not centered.to center the image)
  • Turn the eye off on the layer 1

5. With Layer 2 highlighted, Click Filter: Stylize: Find edges

6. Right click on the layer 2 and  Duplicate layer

7. Rotate the duplicate layer 180 degrees by clicking Edit => transform => rotate 180 degrees.

8. Change the mode to multiply.

9.  Make a new layer

10. Ctrl-click the layer2 copy to select the sphere, reset colors by clicking the D key and select the new layer.

11. Click Filter: Render: Clouds

12. Click Filter: Distort: Spherize set to 100%

13. Double click the clouds layer to get your Layer Styles panel. On the Blending options  gradient bars at the bottom set Blend if GRAY. Move the right sleder left on This Layer:to around 125. so they are 0, 125.

14. Repeat steps 9-13 on another layer. On blending options also set underlying blending to 255, 255 by moving the left slider all the way to the right.
 

15. Click on your first clouds layer and then click Image=> adjust=> Hue Saturation.

  • Colorize checked
  • hue 128
  • saturatiom 14
  • lightness -2

16. Click on the second cloud layer

  • colorize checked
  • Hue  52
  • saturation 14
  • lightness -2

OR

THE CONTINENTS- B. Use a premade one of the earth
 

10. Click your type tool.

  • Font = webdings
  • Size = 500 pixels
  • click on your canvas
  • Hold down your alt key and type 0251 on your keypad. Release the alt key.

11. Center half the world on the circle, right click on the text layer and select rasterize.

12. Control click your layer 2 to select the globe. click select inverse. click on the rasterized type layer. hit your back space key.
