Square Grid Pattern Overlay Set
1. Open an image that is 20
pixels by 20 pixels transparent RGB 72 ppi. Magnify your image to about 700
%.

Insert a new layer. Click Select =>All
3. Click Edit => Stroke
- wisth 2 pixels
- color black
- location = center
- mode= normal
- opacity= 100%
4. Click Edit=> Define Pattern. Name it "square 20"
5. Click on your rectangular marquee tool. Move the marquee left
two nudges and up two nudges so that you have 18 pixels square. Click Edit=>
Define Pattern. Name it "Square 18"
6. Click on your rectangular marquee tool. Move the marquee left two
nudges and up two nudges so that you have 16 pixels square. Click Edit=>
Define Pattern. Name it "Square 16"
7. Click on your rectangular marquee tool. Move the marquee left two
nudges and up two nudges so that you have 14 pixels square. Click Edit=>
Define Pattern. Name it "Square 14"
8. Click on your rectangular marquee tool. Move the marquee left two
nudges and up two nudges so that you have 12 pixels square. Click Edit=>
Define Pattern. Name it "Square 12"
9. Click on your rectangular marquee tool. Move the marquee left two
nudges and up two nudges so that you have 10 pixels square. Click Edit=>
Define Pattern. Name it "Square 10"
10. Click on your rectangular marquee tool. Move the marquee left two
nudges and up two nudges so that you have 8 pixels square. Click Edit=>
Define Pattern. Name it "Square 8"
11. To use the square grids on your canvas, select the area you want your
grid to occur with lasso or marquee, and click Edit=> fill. Select the fill
type as SQUARE 10 and set to 50% opacity.
You can treat your grid with distortions and transformations as you would
any other lines.
12. Save your grid set by clicking edit=> Preset manager. Select patterns
up top. hold your shift key down and and select your grid patterns. then
click save set. Call this set Square Grids and save to your pattern presets. |
