Making Texture Tiles for use as patterns and backgrounds

1. Open a new image Save the file as texture.psd. If you already
have one, use the one you have to add layers to.
- Call it Texture
- 200 wide
- 200 high
- 72 pixels per inch
- RGB
- White background
2. Insert a new layer. Call it MosaicTiles.

3. Color it Tan using the paint bucket and hex #FFFFFF for foreground.
Double click the foreground color. Uncheck web safe colors and add the
hex value FFFFFFto the box labeled #.

Click Filter=>texture=>Mosaic Tiles

Tile size = 92
-
Grout width=6
-
Lighten grout = 9
Click OK
5. Shining the tiles

Select the Colors - Foreground color to white (Hex #FFFFFF)
and Background color Hex # ECECE9.

Select the Magic wand, with tolerance = 0. Use the magic
wand to select the white area in the upper left tile.

Select the Gradient tool and select the diamond gradient.
Make sure the color of the gradient is set to got from forground to
background color. Draw a gradient from the center of that tile to the center
of the canvas.

Repeat B and C above on the other three tiles..
6. These settings should create seamless tiles
7. Save your PSD for additional textures. Save your file in Gif or jpg
also for the web.
8.
Adjust your colors using hue/saturations to get variations of this
bathtiles.
Save again.
