Animating a Rattlesnake MouseOver button

1. Duplicate your snake symbol 2 times.

2. Open the snake copy 1 and edit the mask by first unlocking the mask first. Erase the mask so that it only covers the end of the tail.

3. Open the snake copy2 and edit the mask by unlocking the mask. Erase the mask over the end of the tail.

4. Insert a new symbol and call it snake rattle. In frame 1 of layer 1 insert your snake copy2. Insert a frame in frame2

5. Insert a new layer in the snake rattle symbol. In frame 1 of layer 2 insert your tail (snake copy1) and use the move tool to move it over the snake in the correct position. Insert a keyframe on frame 2 of layer 2. Use your move tool, with rotate instance slected, and rotate it counter clockwise a little.

6. Select your pencil tool with curved lines selected. Draw in curved arcs outside the tail for movement lines in layer 2 frame 1 and slightly different in frame 2.

7. Insert a new symbol. Call it button and make it the properties of a button.

8. In frame 1 (up) place the full rattle snake symbol. 

9. Insert a blank key frame in frame 2(over). Turn onion skin on. Drag the movie clip for snake rattle in frame 2. Use the move tool to position it right over the snake in frame 1(onion skin allows you to see it.).

10. add a new layer to your button. Insert a key frame in the over and extend to the hit. Add your sound to this frame and set as event.

11. Place your button on your stage and test it!
