2. On the Mixer Palette,
- set the line color to Black, #000000 and alpha 45%
- Set the Fill to #333300 with alpha 45%.
3. Draw a rectangle that is about 100 units high by 250 units wide.
4. Set your magnification level at 200% by clicking
view=>magnification=>200%. Select your paint brush. Set your fill color to
Black with the following options:
- normal fill
- 4th largest size
- square shape.
Draw a line of squares along the ruler line at equal distances between
each square for the length of the film but not on top of the film.

Use your Align tool to align all the squares top.
5. Use your arrow tool to select all the squares and click Edit=> copy,
then Edit Paste. use your move tool to move the row o squares onto your
rectangle so that they line up on the right top of the rectangle, just in
from the border. Select the original squares and move them to the bottom
edge. Deselect all and select each square one at a time and hit your
backspace key.

5. Create a new Symbol Called strip 1 that is a Movie Clip and drag your film into it. Click File => import
and select one of the files you downloaded at the beginning of the tutorial.
rEsize the image to fit between the sprocket holes and line up near the
right border. 6. Create a new symbol Called Strip 2 that is a movie clip.
Drag your film into it, Click on file => import and select the second image
file. Resize the image to fit between the sprockets, lined up on the right
hand side. 7. Do the same as 5 and 6 for the third image creating strip 3.
Making the canister

Insert a new symbol that is the filmcanister, with properties of a movie
clip. Draw a oval using the oval tool, line color of
#FF9900 and fill with a radial gradient with inside color #FF9900 and
outside color White, #FFFFFF. Make the oval about 200 units wide by 20 units
high. 9. Duplicate the oval and move the new oval into position about 200
units below the first. 10. Use the line tool to connect the left side of
the top with the left side of the bottom and connect the right side of the
top with the right side of the bottom. 11. With the arrow tool, Click the
inside fill of the circle on the bottom
circle
and then hit backspace to remove the fill. Click the top half of the bottom
oval to highlight it and hit your backspace key. You should be left with an
empty cylinder. 12. Set your paint bucket fill tool to a linear gradient
of #FF9900 to white, #FFFFFF, to #FF9900 and fill the cylinder. Adjust
the gradient with the fill transform tool if needed to get the light color
in the middle. 13. Highlight the cylinder and click insert=> convert to
symbol. name it cylinder with properties of a graphic.

Still with the film canister symbol open, Select black as your line tool,
and a linear gradient of black to white to black. Draw a base oval, draw a
top oval that is about half the radius. Connect the two ovals by drawing two
lines from the smaller top oval straight down to the center of the bottom
oval and connect the two. Drag the bottom connection line to a curve. Fill
the center. It should look like this:

Highlight this cap part and convert it to a symbol called ends with
properties of a graphic, by clicking insert=>convert to symbol. Place it on
top of your canister. Drag another instance into your film canister symbol
and click modify=>transform=>flip verticle.. Position it below the canister,
hold your shift key down and hit your downward arrow to move it below the
other two symbols.
Animated film

Create a new symbol called animated menu1. This will be a movie clip.
17. Drag the film canister into animated menu1. in frame 1 of layer 1.
Insert a new layer and drag the film1 into layer2, frame 1. Position the
film over the canister so it hangs off the left side, and nothing hangs over
the right.
18. click on frame 10 of layer 2 and hit F6. Click on Frame 20 of
layer two and hit F6. Click on frame 20 of LAYER 1 and hit your F5
key.
19. Highlight frame 10 of layer two and using your right arrow key, move
your film so that the image on the film is off to the right of the canister.

on layer 2, Click on Frame 1, insert a motion tween. Click on Frame
10; insert a motion tween.
21. Insert a new layer. Call it mask. Using the rectangle tool with
colors set to black line, black fill, draw a mask from the right top edge of
the canister down to the bottom edge and over to the right about 300 pixels.
Right click on the MASK layer and select MASK. 22. Insert a new layer
Called ACtions and Labels. Insert keyframes in 1, 2, 10 and 11.
23. ACTIONS: Click in frame 1 of the new layer and open you action panel.
Click + =>basic actions=> Stop. Click in Frame 10 of the new layer and On
the actions panel click + => basic actions=> Stop 24. FRAME LABELS: Click
in Frame 2 of the top layer. Open the frames panel and type in the frame
name : unroll. Click on Frame 11 of the top layer and type in the frame name
on the frame panel as roll. 25. Complete the procedures for 16-24
for new symbol film2 canister, and film 3 canister, using the appropriate
film2 and film3 symbols in your library.
Constructing your movie.
26.Click back on your scene 1 to edit your movie. Drag the animated
menu 1 on onto your stage and place it in the upper left corner. Drag out
animated menu 2 and 3 and place them below in a column on your stage. Name
the movie clip instances menu1, menu2, menu3
27. Using your rectangle tool, draw a rectangle on your stage about the
size of the canister. Select the rectangle and click Insert => Convert to
symbol.. Call it button and give it the properties of a button. move two
more instances of the button from the library to the stage. Set each
instance with the effect => alpha=0
28. Move one button over each film movie. Click on the first button and
add the following action script: to the action script panel:
